My Year in books 2017

Hi everyone and Happy 2018!

I cant believe 2017 is over already, it went so fast. But what a good year i had. I am now finally a qualified childcare practitioner and i have made some amazing friends through this community! I also had my best reading year that i have ever had.

My reading goal this year was 40 books. I set it low as i was in my last year of college and started working more once qualified and i didnt know how much time i was going to have to read. But yay! i beat my goal by 25 books so for this year i have put my goal up to 50 to make it achievable and to make it feellessof a pressure to read.

This year i read a range of size books depending on what time i had and whether i was buddy reading a book or if it was a review book.

I do love how both my shortest book and my longest was written by once of my favourite author’s Cassandre clare. I cant wait this year to carry on with her works and finally get to The Dark artifices series, which i have yet to read!

I feel that my avergae length of 302 is a good size for a book as a book over 400 pages does intimidate me a bit and causes those books to be put on a backburner and not end up on my immediate tbr.

This year i started my reread of the Harry potter books with a group of friend who we call ourself the #Hpblogateers. This group has changed in sizes with members leaving and members coming in but those who are still in the group we are going to carry on this year as we are currently on the 5th book but we all had to put it down for a bit because of different circumstances that came into our lives.

RUGOSA is a book i was sent for a review from the publisher which was amazing and i hope/ wish there is a sequel cause i need to know more. I have yet to write the review but i hope to catch up soon. You should all check the book out if you like a bit of adventure in your books.

Here is the list of books i have read this year in rating order. The ones i have review on here will have link to the review , if you wish to check it out?!

  1. Well done! 😀 And I do love the new system Goodreads had done to show how much you read last year, it gives an idea what goals to set for this year. 🙂

      1. That’s a good idea! I wish I could listen to audio books, I end up getting distracted and missing parts of the story lol.
My aim will be to get the first book of both series read in the first half of the year lol. I wish it didn’t go so quick!!!
