Review: Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige

Stealing snow by Danielle Paige is the first book in her stealing snow series. Heres the synopsis of the book:

First kisses sometimes wake slumbering princesses, undo spells, and spark happily ever afters.
Mine broke Bale.
Seventeen-year-old Snow has spent her life locked in Whittaker Psychiatric—but she isn’t crazy. And that’s not the worst of it. Her very first kiss proves anything but innocent…when Bale, her only love, turns violent. Despite Snow knowing that Bale would never truly hurt her, he is taken away—dashing her last hope for any sort of future in the mental ward she calls home. With nowhere else to turn, Snow finds herself drawn to a strange new orderly who whispers secrets in the night about a mysterious past and a kingdom that’s hers for the taking—if only she can find her way past the iron gates to the Tree that has been haunting her dreams.Beyond the Tree lies Algid, a land far away from the real world, frozen by a ruthless king. And there too await the River Witch, a village boy named Kai, the charming thief Jagger, and a prophecy that Snow will save them all.’

Snow is our main character who when we first meet her is in a mental hospital in new york. when i first met snow i got confused whether this was supposed to be a snow queen retelling or snow white telling. one of the main reasons for this was because she calls her pills the names of the seven dwarfs depending on the effect they have on her. i dont know the original snow queen story so i basically went in to this book blind. when snow goes into the other world you meet so many characters then you did when she was in the mental hospital. Snows character is a strong character who had a soul focus in the book the whole time, which she would do anything to achieve. However it did get confusing between her different feelings.

Snow ends up having 3 different love interest which got confusing! these were Jagger, Bale and Kai. Bale was really confusing as hes the one we dont see very much in the book but hes the soul purpose. I didnt really understand his problem and why he was also in whittaker and how he ended up who he was at the end. Jagger is the one who brought her to the other world and was willing to help her do whatever which made it confusing on what he wanted and his purpose of helping her. Kai is your typical love interest when it comes to boy acting hard and pretending he doesn’t like snow but is willing to help her when it came to staying in control.

All Together i gave this book 3 stars or in my case to 3 owls on the branch.

3 star branch

This is because the book was enjoyable in some places but very confusing in other places. I will pick up the second book to see what happens next but it wont be my anticipated new release.
